I’ve already ranked Season 1 & 2 episodes, so let’s move on to another fantastic season, Season 3: Keep in mind that these are MY opinions, which means they are 100% correct. This time as I go through each season, I am putting together a ranked list of each episode in that season in order from my least favorite to my favorite. fine, I’d probably forego sleeping comfortably for a while for the Beyoncé performance of a lifetime, too.I finished watching The Office all the way through for the fourth time recently, so like any fan of the series, I decided to start it all over again. Why is she splurging on a girls’ trip to Coachella? (O.K.

Stray thought: Apparently, Issa cannot afford a mattress. Worst Decision Maker of the Week: Molly, hands down. Pay closer attention to the politics of your new office, Molly! Final score: -1 This seems likely to haunt her, but at least she’s got a great therapist for when things ultimately go south.

Molly’s full commitment to their case is now in question, and her tactic comes off as a little sneaky. It was smart for Molly to offer to help the women on a big case, but she then overplayed her hand by doing the same with the boorish male colleague - the women are clearly upset when they realize Molly is working with him, too. She builds a nice rapport with two women colleagues while commiserating over a male colleague who has a habit of talking over them in meetings. Unfortunately, Molly takes that sound advice and buries herself in the process. Molly admits that the transition has made her feel as though she’s starting her career over from square one, and her therapist suggests she “focus on where you can be helpful rather than where you rank.”

Considering her past reluctance to seek professional help, it’s nice to see that she has stuck with it. Also, as mentioned already, Nathan seems nice.įor Molly, first the good: After spending the last episode being the “at my old firm” woman in front of her new colleagues, she is finally channeling those frustrations to the ideal outlet, her therapist. Maybe The Beat Crew, that music-based organization she learned about at the job fair, is in her future. If Issa is going to finally do something purposeful with her life, ripping the band-aid off feels like the only way she knows how. And while she could have quit We Got Y’all a bit more tactfully, her blunt, out-in-the-open “I can’t do this anymore” to Frieda (echoing her bedside conclusion with Daniel in the previous episode) is just the right touch of dramatic. Getting rid of the Zane novels and Lawrence-made CD mixes, for starters. And, well, Nathan is ridiculously good-looking, like every actor on this show.) But breaking into your childhood home and skinny dipping in a stranger’s pool with your new potential beau, especially if you’re black, feels like maybe not the best idea? (Hey, at least they escaped unscathed. Once we learn that this is Issa’s unconscious move toward finally leaving We Got Y’all, ignoring her work duties appears less self-destructive than it initially seems to be. Were they for the best or the worst?ĭespite Issa’s restraint in celebrating the move out of Daniel’s place, “Fresh-Like” really is all about new beginnings for her: new apartment, new romantic interest, new job (and the loss of an old one).įirst, the bad: After learning that Joanne, her boss, has finally agreed to let her return to working with a school on site, she inadvertently plays hooky after a chance run-in with Nathan, the hot guy who got into a fight with another passenger during his Lyft ride. But Molly and Issa make some drastic life decisions here.

Daniel only has one scene this week - he drops off the last of Issa’s things at her new apartment - so his progress cannot yet be measured. Now that we are midway through the season, it seems like maybe - just maybe - the characters are finally taking a turn for the better. Are any of them going to take their life lessons seriously? As much fun as it has been to watch her and the other protagonists continuously make awkward and silly mistakes, it has begun to feel a bit like an increasingly frustrating form of déjà vu. Indeed, we have been here with Issa before, with proclamations of rebirth after supremely humbling downfalls followed by repeat missteps. “I feel like every time I claim a new me, I end up in some old. “Let’s not do all that,” she cuts in swiftly. When Molly tries to hype Issa up this week with encouraging platitudes about being “next level” and “brand new,” Issa’s deflating response is all of us watching “Insecure.”
